When you get your timetable, you will notice it looks a bit... wonky. Your classes might start and end at different times each day. Some days may seem very long, and others quite short. And not all the class names will make a lot of sense yet!
Your lessons might be longer than the lessons you had at school. On one hand, this means you can really focus on one thing, instead of having lots of transitions. On the other hand, it can be hard to pay attention! But most classes are a mix of listening and trying things yourself, which makes it easier. Also, some classes do a lot of projects. That means it doesn't matter so much if you have a bad day - you can finish your work tomorrow.
Where should I go at lunch?
As long as you don't do anything irresponsible, and you're not late to the next lesson, nobody really minds what you do at lunch!
- Most people go out to the Co-op, Greggs or Subway to buy their lunch. You can bring a pack lunch instead if you prefer.
- You can stay in the classroom, as long as another class doesn't need to use it.
- You can go to the green room.
- You can sit outside, in the social area or use one of the computers in Courthouse.
- You can sit in the hallways (as long as you make sure other people can still get past).
I made a list of places where you can buy lunch on google maps. Click this link to see my list.
What is this lesson I have on my timetable?
I've explained some of these terms in the words to know section.
